The ATO and Government are constantly sending updates on the JobKeeper scheme. At times, it can be confusing to work out what needs to be done next.
If you think you will be eligible for JobKeeper, and have already applied for updates with the ATO, the next step will be to have your employees complete JobKeeper Employee Nomination Form.
This form must be completed, signed and returned to you in order for you to be able to apply for the JobKeeper scheme for each employee. Note these forms need to be retained for 5 years, so be sure you file appropriately.
There are many more steps in the process to come (such as application, which opens on 20 April), however, at this stage, you will simply need these forms completed and returned to you by each eligible employee.
We will endeavour to send through updates on the next steps in the JobKeeper scheme process, and any further information, as it becomes available from the ATO and Government.
If you have any specific questions, such as your business’ eligibility to the JobKeeper scheme, please don’t hesitate to contact the team at Smith Feutrill.
